Take this short physics quiz generated with the Examview, or this geology quiz made with Quizmaker. Software such as Examview allows teachers to develop tests and post them on the Internet.Use a test generator to construct an exam composed of questions you have selected from existing question banks.*TPE-tip A well-structured exam may be used as an artifact for TPE3, Interpretation and Use of Assessments. Test generators allow the teacher to input questions, and often provide databases of questions the teacher can select from. Many textbook publishers make test construction easier by providing test generators, software which allows the teacher to quickly compose tests and keys from question databases. (2) Assessment: Teachers must regularly assess student progress. I doknow, however, that Granada uses gaggle accounts, which are linked to the gradebooks of all the teachers that they have, and through this account they canview their grades as I upload them- and I don’t have to do any other work inorder for the students to see their grades! This is so much easier for a non-math person like me to usebecause I don’t have to spend time making up equations and praying that theywork! Plus, I really like that the students can go online and see personalized progressreports- this is especially helpful for people like me, because I rarely printout students grades until the 5 week progress reports are gunna come out. I think thatthis is an excellent grading program- I’ve never used one before as I have onlyhad to deal with the soccer team till now, but any grades that I kept track of,I did using excel. If you do not have access to such a program, you may use Gradekeeper or download a sample shareware "gradebook" program. Submit a printout of your gradebook and the detailed report card (progress report) for an individual student. Use a your school's gradebook program to develop a report for a real or hypothetical class of ten or more students who are assessed on five or more assignments. Many schools and districts have adopted networked grading systems, and some publish grades on secure websites. Grade categories are a way of grouping grade items within the gradebook.(1) Record Keeping: Teachers have a professional responsibility to monitor, record and communicate student progress. By default each course acts as the top level parent category in it's gradebook, with other categories you might create nested underneath as subcategories. You can have multiple categories, either sitting under the parent course category or nested within one another as best suits your purposes. Each grade item however, can only be part of one category. When grades are grouped in a category you will be presented with a category total which can be weighed and have grade calculations applied to it. You can add a new category on any course you have editing permissions on. ![]() Go into a course and then select Gradebook setup from the Administration block.Under the list of grade items click Add category. ![]() Configure the settings how you want them. The aggregation determines how grades in a category are combined, such as: Once a category is set-up you can add a grade calculation on the category total, see the Calculating grades with formulas page for more information. Mean of grades: The sum of all grades divided by the total number of grades.Median of grades: The middle grade when grades are arranged in order of size.Mode of grades: The grade that occurs the most frequently.Natural: The sum of all grade values scaled by weightĪn empty grade is a grade which is missing from the gradebook. It may be from an assignment submission which has not yet been graded or from a quiz which has not yet been attempted etc. This setting determines whether empty grades are not included in the aggregation or are counted as minimal grades, for example 0 for an assignment graded between 0 and 100. This setting enables a specified number of the lowest grades to be excluded from the aggregation. The grade total for the category will be displayed in grading reports like a grade item. This name is what will appear in that listing. This setting provides space for entering information about the item. The information is not displayed anywhere else. ![]() Setting an ID number provides a way of identifying the activity for grade calculation purposes.
